Field Trip

The Field Trip to Desoto Caverns will be April 3, 2014.  The cost is $47.58 per child or adult.  My class is limited to 10 parents.  Due to the number going, we must limit adults to one parent per child.  We would like to have all money in as soon as possible.

Vocabulary Words- ocotillo, greasewood, ford, amber, amethyst, bridle, and bandits.  We only have 7 words this week.

Our story this week is Roxaboxen pages 258 - 265.

Vocabulary, reading, and Spelling Tests on Friday. 

We will have a short Social Studies Test on Wed. I will send a study guide on Tuesday.

School Holiday

There will be no school on Monday, February 17, for President's Day.

We had a great party today.  Thanks to everyone for all the nice gifts and treats!  We had some snacks left over.  I put those in bags for snack next week.

We will be reading in the Open Court Reading book next week.  Our story is Picasso on page 248.

List of Names

I am also sending a list of the student's names home today. It will be helpful when making cards for the party.  Please send Valentine cards to school no later than Thursday.  We have students that will not be here on Friday.  Thanks!

Both of these word lists will go home today.

Cabbage plants went home on Friday.  The student page explains the contest.  Be sure to take a picture if your plant turns into a huge cabbage.

Daddy/ Daughter Dance money due Feb. 14, and money for Jumprope for Heart due Friday, also.

We have a Social Studies Test Tuesday.  Study Guide will go home today.  This one is very short.  The boys and girls did a great job last week on the big test. 

AR scores were much better again last week.  Keep up the good work.

Also, we do have some not bringing in math homework.  Let's try to do better with that this week.

VALENTINE'S DAY this Friday.  We have planned a small party for Friday at lunch. We will make our bags today. The students have already talked about what they would like to bring. If you can let me know by tomorrow, what each child is bringing, that would be great.

Since we only went one day last week, I will not give the Social Studies Test on Monday.  We will review and test on Tuesday.  The spelling and vocabulary I listed for last week will be the words  for this week.
