This week we will read chapters 5 - 8 in the novel. Vocabulary words are- tentatively, shoreline, relocate, pose, exasperation, and hazy.
Spelling Words - better, letter, potter, rubber, soccer, ladder, hammer, scatter, dinner, slippers, tomorrow, summer, pretty, button, happy, carry, sparrow, appetizer, innocent, volleyball
This week begins the new and final grading period for the school year.

April 3 Desoto Caverns Field Trip - more information will soon be available on this.

We will start reading the novel Number the Stars this week. Vocabulary Words - lanky, sabotage, occupation, rationed, synagogue, submerged.
Spelling Words for the week- since, sauce, safe, sink, nice, gym, germ, largest, magic, age, gentle, hinge, cellar, second, cider, juice, giant, ceiling, because, gigantic.
This is the last week for the 3rd nine weeks grading period. If a student has not reached their AR goal yet, they need to do so by the end of this week.
We will have a short Social Studies Test on Tuesday. I will send a study guide.
Also, school will dismiss at 12:30 on Friday, March 14, due to the baseball tournament.
Please continue to practice multiplication facts. We need instant recall on basic multiplication facts.

Our story this week is "City Superheroes" on page 186. Vocabulary for the wk.- ordinary, nocturnal, solutions, observant, encounter, deter, strewn, ventilation, sewers, and omnivorous.
Spelling Words- know, knee, kneel, knife, knit, wrap, wren, wreck, wrist, wrong, write, wrinkle, knew, known, written, gnat, knight, gnaw, sign, knob.
I am sending home the March Menu for meals at school and a card that explains how you can keep up with what your child eats and spends at school. There is also an order form for ribs. These should be in your child's bookbag.
Watch the news on WSFA at 4:00 this afternoon and you might see your child.
Encourage your child to keep up the good work in AR. We have almost reached our goal!
